Pramila Jayapal today announced the endorsement of her campaign by the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC), the largest caucus within the House Democratic Caucus. The CPC promotes a strong progressive agenda, “consistent with the values, needs and aspirations of all the American people, not just the powerful and the privileged. They reflect a fundamental belief in government of the people, by the people, and for the people.”
In addition to being endorsed by the CPC, Senator Jayapal has also been endorsed by both of its Co-Chairs, Reps. Raúl M. Grijalva (AZ-07) and Keith Ellison (MN-05), and the founder of the CPC, Senator Bernie Sanders.
Senator Jayapal's Campaign Manager, Aaron Bly said of the endorsement, “We’re thrilled to be endorsed by the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Pramila has a history of building movements to achieve results, and after receiving the endorsement of sixteen current members of Congress as well as the Congressional Progressive Caucus, it’s clear, she’s already laying the foundation to build a movement in Congress. As The Nation said recently about Pramila, ‘... she will come to Congress not as a backbencher, but as a leader.’”
