Canvass for Climate Justice and Gun Safety with Pramila Jayapal and Jane Fonda

SEATTLE – Tomorrow, September 11, Congresswoman Jayapal and award-winning actress and activist Jane Fonda will lead volunteers and supporters on a canvassing drive for two Washington initiatives that will be on the November ballot: I-1631 and I-1639.

Congresswoman Jayapal has officially endorsed these initiatives to help bring climate justice and gun reform to Washington state. I-1631 would put a fee on the state’s largest polluters and invests in protecting our air and water and new clean energy infrastructure across the state. I-1639 would raise the age to purchase semi-automatic rifles to 21, create an enhanced background check system, require the completion of a firearm safety training course, and create standards for secure storage to prevent guns from falling into dangerous hands.

WHO: Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, Jane Fonda, volunteers, and organizers for I-1631 and I-1639

WHEN: Tuesday, September 11, 11:00AM-3:00PM
