Jayapal Statement on Primary Election Victory

Congresswoman Jayapal issued the following statement regarding her primary election victory:

"I’m humbled by tonight's incredible show of support from the voters of Washington’s 7th District. When I started this journey with you more than two years ago, I said I’d be a bold progressive fighter who stands up for you and your values. Tonight’s results are a robust affirmation that when we fight for health care for all, justice for immigrants, and an equitable economy that works for everyone, we WIN. We are going to carry tonight’s momentum straight into November with strong organizing, continuing to phone-bank and knock on thousands of doors to elect progressives here in Washington state and across the country and doing everything we can to take back the House of Representatives. As Republicans continue to embrace the Trump agenda of repealing the Affordable Care Act, preventing Medicaid expansion, and ushering in a tax scam that will deeply harm Americans around the country, our campaign will fight tooth and nail to hold them accountable on the doors, at the ballot box, in Congress, and in the streets."
